Lyrics
- I’m stri-i-ding to the DREAD,
- Breezin’ on a tide where the risk maps spread.
- Gentle wind, calm sea, but threats ride the swell—
- Come and chart the model where our safeguards dwell.
- S-T-R-I-D-E—sing it free,
- Spot the storms before they crash on you and me.
- We turn the tide when we’re well-led,
- Know our D-R-E-A-D to get that budget fed.
- Verse 1 – S (Spoofing)
- S is for Spoofing (S-poof-ing!)—a mask that steals your name.
- Authentication checks the creds and ends the masquerade game.
- Verse 2 – T (Tampering)
- T stands for Tampering (Tam-per-ing!), bytes rewritten, tables bent.
- Guard it with Integrity—hashes match from end to end.
- Verse 3 – R (Repudiation)
- R is Repudiation (Re-pyoo-dee-ay-shun!), “I never hit send,” they plea.
- Non-Repudiation seals the trail—digital proof of the message, see?
- Verse 4 – I (Information Disclosure)
- I for Information Disclosure (In-fo Dis-clo-sure!), secrets drifting out of sight.
- Wrap them in Confidentiality, keep those ledgers locked up tight.
- Verse 5 – D (Denial of Service)
- D is Denial of Service (De-ni-al of Ser-vice!), floods that knock the servers dead.
- We bolster Availability—fail-over keeps us two steps ahead.
- Verse 6 – E (Elevation of Privilege)
- E means Elevation of Privilege (El-uh-vay-shun of Priv-i-lidge!)—guest account grabs admin key.
- Authorization locks that ladder—least rights guard the victory.
- Risk is an ocean—chart it true;
- Budget sails in convoy when the threats are in view.
- Surf’s a lot smoother once each wave’s been read—
- Measure, rank, and price those fears instead.
- Final Verse – DREAD
- Now whisper D-R-E-A-D:
- Damage potential, Reproducibility, Exploitability, Affected users, Discoverability.
- That’s the dread we’ve dreaded too long—
- Name it, frame it, ride it out in song.
- I’m stri-i-ding to the DREAD,
- But our STRIDE keeps the shoreline straight ahead.
- Compass set, the budget’s bred—
- Safe seas, smooth sails—no more fear to tread.
