What's in the Box?!

- Build It Right
- Everything, A to Z
Lyrics
- It was a dark code night, and the test began,
- We cracked open boxes with a trembling hand—
- The white one said “here, take all my keys,”
- Transparent like ghosts on a zero-trust breeze.
- “You see it all, from source to flow,
- So test my guts and make me glow!”
- But from the shadows, a millennial shock:
- They screamed aloud—"WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!"
- What’s in the box?! What’s in the box?!
- Malware snacks or seven locks?
- I’ll only know with code review,
- Or if it’s dark—inference too.
- A payload grins, a scanner knocks,
- But no one knows what’s in the box…
- The grey box moaned, “you get some of my soul,”
- Just enough knowledge to lose control—
- Half a map and a shady guide,
- Functional chaos on the testing ride.
- Dynamic scans and static screams,
- Coverage gaps in developer dreams—
- “Don’t look too hard, or you’ll unlock the locks…”
- But then they gasped—“WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!”
- What’s in the box?! What’s in the box?!
- Malware snacks or seven locks?
- I’ll only know with code review,
- Or if it’s dark—inference too.
- A payload grins, a scanner knocks,
- But no one knows what’s in the box…
- Then came the black box, cold and sealed,
- No info given. Just fate revealed.
- You poke and prod from outside the shell,
- Guessin’ what's inside like a dev from hell.
- “But sir, I’m a black box, not a black hat,
- Boxes ain’t hats, so don’t confuse that!”
- The monster groaned as the logic popped,
- Then it muttered low—“Don’t ask what’s in the box.”
- What’s in the box?! What’s in the box?!
- Malware snacks or seven locks?
- I’ll only know with code review,
- Or if it’s dark—inference too.
- A payload grins, a scanner knocks,
- But no one knows what’s in the box…
- Fuzzing time! They fed me trash,
- Malformed bytes in a binary bash!
- I burped up logs, I threw a fit,
- My logic broke—and then I split!
- I once was functional, full of glee,
- “Do what I’m told,” that’s the test for me—
- But my sibling lurked in a darker lair,
- The non-functional with deadpan stare...
- “I measure cold things, like scale and speed,
- And failure to fail when stress decreed.”
- They ran performance ‘til time unlocked,
- Then bradly screamed—“WHAT’S IN THE BOX?!”
- What’s in the box?! What’s in the box?!
- Malware snacks or a thousand locks?
- I’ll only know with code review,
- Or if it’s dark—inference too.
- A payload grins, a scanner knocks,
- But no one knows what’s in the box…
- (faint whisper)
- What’s in the box…
- ...don’t ask what’s in the box...
- even brad doesn't know what's in this box.
